Felipe Oliveira

Bio:Currently a PhD student at Uppsala University. My research focus is the on developement of new PLA for characterization of glycoprotein in gastric cancers. Prior to starting this position I was a molecular technician at the Entomology Branch of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Emory University, which I attended from 2002-2006. During my time at Emory I performed minor research projects for Dr. Barry Yedvobnick, were we performed analytical test, through gene interaction and gene over-expression experiments, to screen for possible members of the Drosophila Notch pathway. I have also a Masters degree in Applied Biotechnology from Uppsala University, which I attended from 2007-2009. There I worked on the crystalization of several Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins, through the use of protein engineering approach, in the attempt to solve the 3D structure for each respective protein.
