Celso Reis

Bio:He is a Coordinator Researcher and group leader at Institute of Molecular Pathology and Immunology of the University of Porto, IPATIMUP.
Celso Reis’s research is on glycobiology in human diseases, with focus on gastrointestinal cancer. He has made contributions in the characterization of glycoproteins expression in human gastric mucosa during the carcinogenesis process. These include the role of glycans in the cross-talk between H. pylori and gastric mucosa, the glycophenotype alterations in pre-neoplastic lesions and in gastric carcinoma.
He has published 110 peer-reviewed journal articles, 5 reviews, 4 book chapters and 4 patents. His research work has been cited by more than 3200 papers (H-index: 31).
